This database is currently under construction. It will, when it is fully available, fulfil the purpose given below.

If anyone wishes to trace their ancestry back to 1000 and earlier they need to trace a descent from a royal or noble family. To facilitate this we have created a database which shows known descents down to 1650 from one of the following couples:

Henry 1 Beauclerk c1068-c1135 King of England and his wife Matilda of Scotland 1080-1118
Henry of Scotland c1114-1152 Earl of Huntingdon and his wife Ada Warenne -1178

The database also shows how these couples were descended from:

Alfred the Great c849-c901 King of England
Charles the Great (Charlemagne) 742-814 Emperor of the West
Kenneth MacAlpin c800-c859 King of Scotland
