- 1328 Thornbury court rolls - Normally a court is held every 3-4 weeks. The court rolls contain presentments by the free tenants and by the
tithingmen of the members of the manor: viz:- Kington, Moreton, Mare, Falfield, Oldbury. Mare has disappeared by the late 14th Century (cf.
D641/1/4D) and Falfield by 1515 (but see D641/1/4C/11B). These presentments occur at "courts" as well as "Views of frankpledge" and Falfield
is present at the latter after it has ceased to appear at "courts"; there are also cases concerning substraction of services; also admissions

- 1330 Honour of Gloucester - Thornbury. Court of fees of Honour of Gloucester, held there; 3 weekly court. Deals with property and pleas in
Gloucestershire, but most entries relate to land in South-West near Thornbury, particularly by the late 14th Century. Some relate to land in
the manor of Thornbury. Many pleas of debt etc., but in these the abode of litigants is frequently unstated. Compurgation used in the 14th
Century. Admission, homage etc., relate to land varying from an acre or two to several Knight's fees - places usually but not invariably
stated at this date, and information relates not only to purchase and sale but to collection and enforcement of feudal incidents,
concealments etc. Numerous admissions to land sold:- a). At Mangotsfield 1350-1352. b). At Tokington by Nicholas Payne with sale to Thomas

together at the head. There are two copies for the year 1363-64. The annual contents normally consist of perquisites of court, and liveries
of money together with details of adjustments of debit. There are however occasional entries for the farm of pieces of land. Aids are
accounted for in 1349-50, 1354-55, 1373-76; in 1373-76 there are lists of Knight's fees; and in all these years details of failure to pay. -

- 1399 Richard Turstin came out of the south of Norfolk and acquired from William and Maud Stafford the manor of Chemingnarde near
Thornbury in the Hundred of Witelau in 1399. He claimed common origin with the Bassets and died 1413. His great grandson Robert Thurston

- 1623 Oldbury - Sea Walls of River Severn - There were a series of law suits during the 17th century dealing with liability of the lord of
the manor and for his tenants to repair the above and particularly the effect on neighbouring mills. Lord Stafford apparently sold two mills
on opposite banks of a tributary of the River Severn, the one in Oldbury 1605, together with the tithing of Oldbury, to Sir James Harrington;
in 1611 he sold Kington and its tithing to Sir John Stafford (some documents state it to be 1 Jas. I) - Contents: The cases from which papers
