PAPAL:1 - 1401 10/8 William and Margaret Danielis - To the bishop of Lichfield. PAPAL:2 - 1401 17/2 Nicholas Daniel - To Nicholas Daniel, deacon, of the diocese of London. Rehabilitation etc as below. He has had (i) when in his sixteenth year a papal dispensation to hold an elective benefice with cure, even if a dignity, major in a metropolitan or cathedral or principal in a collegiate church, personatus or office, under which he obtained the archdeaconry of Wilts, a dignity; (ii) after holding the archdeaconry about a year, a motu proprio papal dispensation to hold two benefices with cure or otherwise incompatible, even if elective dignities, one of them major in a metropolitan or cathedral or principal in a collegiate church, personatus or offices, even with cure, and to resign them for exchange or otherwise, as often as he pleased and hold instead two similar or dissimilar mutually incompatible benefices, after which he obtained the parish church of Symondesburgh, in the diocese of Salisbury, and in exchange therefor, the chancellorship of Wells, a dignity, holding together for some years, as he still does, the said archdeaconry and chancellorship and the canonry and sacerdotal prebend of Horton in Salisbury, although not ordained priest. His recent position adds that in the said second letters no mention was made of his defect of age nor of the fact that at their date he held the archdeaconry, on account of which, as also because the said prebend is sacerdotal, he fears molestation. Besides rehabilitating him, the pope confirms the collations of his said three benefices; grants that the said second letters shall hold good notwithstanding the omission, and dispenses him to hold together his said three benefices, even though the prebend be sacerdotal. Sedes apostolica. (De mandato). - see Papal Letters V/372.
