POSSIBILITY:1 - Thomas Danyell in household of John Howard - see fact:30, 31 and 32 for possible appearances of Thomas Danyell in the household books of his brother-in-law John Howard

POSSIBILITY:2 - Danyells and the Earls of Warwick - see close:2 and inquisitions:1 where John Danyel was in about 1400 chamberlain of Thomas Beauchamp Earl of Warwick and was granted land in Warwickshire by the earl - see patent:118 and 119 where Thomas Danyell was appointed with Edmund Mountford (during the minority of the heiress of Henry Beauchamp Duke of Warwick) as master of the game and steward of lordships in Warwickshire and Staffordshire.

POSSIBILITY:3 - Thomas Danyell father of Elizabeth Torbock - see the History of the County Palatine and Duchy of Lancaster by Edward Baines with additions by John Harland and Brooke Herford and edited by James Croston in 1893, where on page 76 of Volume 5 a pedigree of the Torbock family gives Sir Richard Torbock marrying a daughter of Thomas Daniell of Wigan.

POSSIBILITY:4 - Daniel of Daresbury - see History of the County Palatine and City of Chester by George Ormerod edited by Thomas Helsby in 1882, where on page 734 of volume 1 a genealogy table for the Danyells of Daresbury has William Danyell of Daresbury c1369-1429 marrying Sibyl Bold and having at least two children John Danyell ?-1477 and William Danyell 1408-? and has their son John Danyell died 1477 marrying Jonett Hallum and having at least two children John Danyell married c1446 and died before his father and Peter Danyell (but table has him alive 1401 which seems impossible).

POSSIBILITY:5 - Daniel of Bradley - see History of the County Palatine and City of Chester by George Ormerod edited by Thomas Helsby in 1882, where on page 472 of volume 1 a genealogy of the Danyells of Bradley shows this family dying out in the male line before any generations born in the fifteenth century.

POSSIBILITY:6 - Daniel of Tabley - see History of the County Palatine and City of Chester by George Ormerod edited by Thomas Helsby in 1882, where on page 474 of volume 1 a genealogy of the Danyells of Tabley has Thomas Danyell of Tabley -1433 (second cousin of the father of William Danyell of Daresbury c1369-1429) marrying Elizabeth Aston and having children Thomas Danyell, John Danyell, Richard Danyell, Henry Danyell, Roger Danyell and Lawrence Danyell, has their eldest son Thomas Danyell marrying in 1413 Isabel Rixton and having at least two children Thomas Danyell married c1434 and John Danyell.

POSSIBILITY:7 - parentage of Thomas Danyell - see bell:23 where Thomas's great great great grandson, the venerable Arthur Bell, admitted in 1638 that he did not know Thomas's parentage but claimed that Thomas came from the Danyell family of Tabley and Daresbury - see probability:8 where the visitation of Suffolk in 1561 also failed to give the parentage of Thomas Danyell or even mention Daresbury, though it also had the family of Peter Danyell of Daresbury without saying how he and Thomas were related; later additions to the visitation claimed that Thomas and Peter were children of a Thomas Danyell of Daresbury but did not justify the claim - see where Baines History of Lancashire gave Thomas Danyell of Wigan as father of Elizabeth Tarbuck nee Danyell (sister of Thomas Danyell) - see fact:62 which in 1423 refers to Sir Edmund Danyell brother of William Danyell of Daresbury so indicating use of name Edmund in the Daresbury family - see fact:63 where in about 1400 William Danyell of Daresbury was a retainer of the king - see fact:64 for Thomas Danyell's close involvement with Frodsham and Daresbury - see fact:93 for a Nicholas Danyell of Daresbury having a significant role in the Chester area in the 1420s - see fact:94 for involvement of the Danyells of Daresbury in Essex.

POSSIBILITY:10 - Daniell of Rathwire - see Manuscript Sources for History of Irish Civilisation where the entry for family of Daniell gives reference to Genealogical Office Ms 50 pages 61 and 119 which gives a list c1630 of Baronies whose status was exceptional because their holders were called Barons but were not Peers of Parliament; these baronies were Sentleger (of Falmerg), Den (of Pormanstowne), Fitzgerald (of Burnechurch), Welleslie (of Norragh), Hussie (of Galtrim), S Mighell (of Scrin), Nagle (of Navan), Fitzowen (of Birr), Fipoes (of Skrine), Terell (of Castlecreah), Daniell (of Rathwire), Purcell (of Loughmoe), Butlers (of Balevoa).

POSSIBILITY:11 - Thomas Danyell - see Harleian MSS 1535 folio 1116 (a transcription is held on page 136 of Cheshire Pedigrees in the Cheshire section at the Society of Genealogists) where Thomas Danyell lord of Rathwire is said to be son of George Danyell of Cherry Tree House who was descended from the Danyells of Tabley.
